According to Pokémon news website Serebii, earlier today the official Korean Pokémon website uploaded pictures of two surprising mega Pokémon: Mega Slowbro, and Mega Audino (pictured above). While the images are no longer on the Korean website, the internet was quick to save the pictures — and have taken to social media to poke fun at mega Slowbrow.
First, some specifics about this ‘mon.
“Energy was focused in the Shellder biting Slowbro’s tail, and the result was that the hardness of the shell increased and it became an immensely hard suit of armour that can be damaged by no one,” Serebii says. Accordingly, mega Slowbro has high defence and special defence. “When the battle begins Mega Slowbro uses its tail to stand up straight and it propels itself like a spring.”
OK, now that we have that out of the way, let’s talk about this Pokemon’s design. This is normal Slowbro:
Look how happy it is. I mean, sure, there’s a Shellder attached to its tail, but still, it’s all good!
Now compare to mega Slowbro’s face.
That’s the face of regret. The face of panic. The face of sadness. Slowbro doesn’t know what’s happening or why it’s happening to him. The Shellder is straight up overtaking its body, ack! It’s incredible and kind of WTF. I think the internet feels similarly about it:

mega slowbro looks like a regular slowbro that made a mistake while evolving and now has to live with it forever

I do believe mega slowbro can now join the ever growing pokemon nightmare fuel list due to it looking like the slowpoke part feeling worried that the shellder is slowly consuming it, remember that slowbro was from gen1, which infamously gave us the nightmare inducing parasect. Thanks gamefreak for giving us a nightmare inducing mega.
Looking forward to the ruby sapphire remakes. I never go to play them first time around. Still would rather new evolutions thab mega. Like Pinser, or a third for some that only have two.
Still annoyed that the bull with an afro was it’s own thing and not an evolution of Tauros.
I don’t see why. They are about as similar as glameow and purrloin. And what makes Buffalant a logical step up from Tarous?
I dunno, what’s logical about a fish evolving into an octopus?
What makes it a logical step up is that Tauros is a bull while Buffalant looks lsimilar, but without the tail, and has bigger horns and an afro. They also both have humps, and Tauros has that mane that’s the same colour as Buffalan’s afro.
Pokemon, you are dead to me.
I will only remember 2 real generations.
Look, I don’t play the pokeymans, but I’m kind of disappointed that Mega Slowbro isn’t something that was included in X & Y and is now being reported as a ‘leak’.
