Celebrate 30 Years Of Ghosts’n Goblins With Five Minutes Of Death

On 19 September, 1985, Capcom unleashed one of the toughest video games ever to hit arcades, starring a brave knight and his brave underwear.

Ghosts’n Goblins was the game that answered the age-old question, “What do you do when the devil kidnaps your girlfriend?” The answer, which in retrospect should have been fairly obvious, is die. Die lots.

30 years later we’ve been through a lot with Sir Arthur, from sequels (Ultra Mega Hyper Ghosts’n Goblins) to spin-offs (Maximo) to crossover appearances (Marvel Vs. Capcom 3). But mostly we’ve just seen him being slaughtered in his underwear, as demonstrated in the five unfortunate minutes above.
